Amazon takes over CDNOW
December 31, 2002 | Leave a Comment
A month or two ago the recording company that previously ran CDNow sold it to Amazon to manage. I noticed the take over has happened recently, and I am very disappointed. I like Amazon and buy a lot from them, but I wish they would not have touched CDNow. It had far better features than Amazon, like similiar artists lookup and influencial artists lookup, etc… If you know of any other music sites that combine related information to the artists (at least more so than Amazon), let me know.

New hardware

I finally received my free 32MB SD card from T-Mobile over the holiday (along with my rebate!). At the same time T-Mobile has released a ROM update for the Pocket PC Phone Edition. I’ll be updating my phone later today. The traveling Bill Perry of PocketFlash.net fame will be stopping in sometime today or tomorrow to hang out with the crew at hyperQUAKE. I’m sure there will be quite a lot of Flash on devices discussions taking place.

Compaq Tablet PC
December 2, 2002 | Leave a Comment
We received our Compaq Tablet PC over the holiday here at hyperQUAKE. First impressions are pretty good. It’s really light weight and mobile. The pen touch feels pretty close to pen on paper. The screen is crisp. The sound is so-so. I am still installing drivers and getting the wi-fi card installed. No Flash to view just yet. More to come…
