Flash Com hosting
March 31, 2003 | Leave a Comment
I received this email over the weekend : “Hi, I’m working for a provider in New York who has recently started to offer Flashcom hosting. It is the first provider in the NYC area, and has special cheap offers for developers. This is possible, because we developed a bandwidth monitoring tool based on the MM flogger application. We are able to give the client a detailed report at the end of the month. At the bottomline, this means low fix costs based on a new price structure. We would be very happy, if you would consider to announce us on your weblog. http://www.flashcomhost.com with best regards,
Jens Loeffler”
I think Communication Server is a very powerful tool and one that I hope to get a lot more experience with over the next year. Real-time data to a client running on a mobile device is a hard thing to accomplish with any other technology out there. This is one benefit to using Flash on devices.
P.S. I had to make some DNS edits this past week, so if you have noticed any down time, sorry. Everything should be back up now.

Flash on your Sprint and Verizon phones
March 19, 2003 | Leave a Comment
Sprint announced this week at the CTIA conference that they will be offering two new Pocket PC Phone Edition phones in coming months. Both will be capable of playing Flash content. With their new PCSVision high speed connection, Flash on these two new phones will be great for building rich client apps. Verizon announced a similiar device made by Samsung. This is a Pocket PC as well and therefore can also run Flash. Verizon Wireless also announced EVDO rollouts in San Diego and DC. I have been involved with trials of these networks for the past year. Hopefully the rest of the US will see the same speeds very soon. These high speed networks are amazing. Flash fits the mold as well. Remoting offers low bandwidth data transfers to a rich client. Simple as that.
