T-Mobile and Macromedia today published a press release announcing a new app available via the T-Mobile network that uses Flash Lite. This is the first carrier deal we have heard about regarding the recently announced Flash Lite 1.1 player. This is a great step forward for Flash Lite and mobile Flash development. I can’t wait to see the app. Luckily I am on T-Mobile. More reviews to come later.

Amazon is leading the way again. Amazon clearly become the number one shopping destination on the web for first generation internet users. They have put into action the first steps to becoming the number one shopping destination for the second generation as well. I’m talking about the mobile version of their site. It’s not recently launched, and it is not the most graphically enhanced site, but it is fully functional. Their patented 1Click is in use. The user experience is the same as the desktop. They are on their way to winning the loyalty of the mobile user. Competitors need to take notice.

Right now they only have a PDA (Pocket PC and Palm) version. I expect they have phone versions in the works. Note to Amazon* If you need any help with that, give me a call. The fact is that they have the wheels in motion. They are capturing users. Market share is what it is all about for online shopping. You need to become that place/brand that everyone thinks of going when they are shopping for something. I have Amazon added to the mobile portal available at this domain. Right now its the only shopping destination. They get my support. Yahoo also gets my support for the work they are doing. I expect we’ll see efforts from Google soon as well. Microsoft just recently relaunched MSN for mobiles. I’ll have a post soon about my portal project as well.

On a seperate note: Go Lance and USPS. Lance captured the yellow jersey today after the TTT at the Tour de France. It’s been a great tour so far.
