Mobile and Devices track at MAX 2005
August 19, 2005 | 2 Comments
Macromedia has updated the mobile and devices track at MAX to include some more specifics about sessions covering Flash Lite and mobile authoring with Flash 8. Looks to be some great topics and speakers. I am still up in the air as to whether or not I am going to be able to attend. I hope to make it out there but my schedule may not permit it.
If you are on the fence like I am, check out the finalized track details and maybe it will help sway your decision:

Flash Lite mobile authoring in new Flash 8
August 8, 2005 | Leave a Comment
So this morning is the big “official” announcement morning for Studio 8 and especially the next version of Flash. Really exciting things, for both the desktop and for mobile. My blog has been quiet as of recent because I have been busy working with Macromedia regarding some of the things included with Flash 8 relating to mobile authoring and Flash Lite 1.1.
Macromedia has created page outlining all of the mobile authoring features in Flash 8. For a virtual walk through, check out the Breeze Presentation that Bill Perry has put together.
I’ll be posting more in the coming week regarding the mobile emulator. It’s an amazing development, one that has been tried in the J2ME world for a very long time. Yospace is the most successful, however complete emulation of J2ME is a near impossible thing to accomplish. Macromedia and Flash Lite on the other hand can accomplish emulation of the runtime and have done so with the mobile emulator built into Flash 8. By working with the manufacturers of the handsets that support Flash Lite, Macromedia have given developers the best in industry workflow for creating mobile content for handsets.
Flash 8 and the mobile authoring features are going to be a milestone for mobile content creation. If you are a mobile developer and/or have experience developing content for Flash Lite 1.0 or Flash Lite 1.1, then you have something very exciting to look forward to with the release of Flash 8.
