Paving Ways has a great post about using Ajax in a mobile specific Web based application. I love posts that aren’t simply links or rehashes, but are real world experiences and this post does this. I need to take my own advice and do this more. I am playing around with WURFL (through a database) right now so maybe I’ll post on it in the next few days.

In the mean time, check out the post above and see how mobile browsers are quickly advancing and are implementing desktop advances like XMLHTTPRequest allowing for “Ajax” applications. Very cool. I tested the app on my Nokia E61. Ajax works as expected. I had one request fail, but I think it was a time out error not an error in the Ajax logic.

    hi mike,
thanks a lot for the positive feedback – always nice to see that i’m not the only one interested in this stuff ;)
many thanks also for the testing with your n61 – so you were the Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413 in my logs. i wonder how the page looks like in this browser – especially with the zooming feature.
    ciao,
    rocco
